Personal assignment
The Scouting program is a great way to met new people and to go extraordinary places. There are three divisions in the couting program, Beavers(ages 5-7), Cubs(ages 8-10), Scouts(ages 11-14), Venturers(ages 14-17, Rovers(ages 18-26). I am a Venturer, belonging to 2nd Aldergrove Scout group.
Members go camping through out the year. They endure the worst treatment from mother nature. Scouters plunder through rain, skip in fallen leaves, tolerate deep snow and suffer under the hot sun. But despite these minor setback , it's amazing to experience the seasons first hand. I've been able to see the beauty in all the seasons.
I have met so many new people, but I only consider my group members to be my friends. We meet many other groups at social camps. It's very nice to be gaining new life/social skills every camp.
Thanks to Scouting I have been able to acquire a award called "Chief Scout Award". It's the highest award given at the Scout level in Scouts Canada. In order to get the award Scouters must complete various qualifications. These are some examples: VoyageurPathfinder, earn ten Challenge badges, Standard First Aid and World Scout Environment BadgeThe highest award in the entire program is called "Queens Venturer Award". I am aiming to get this fantastic award next, during my time in Venturers.

Traditions and Customs of the Holiday season
Winter is a desolate time of the year. It's a cold season with death around every corner. But even in this bleak time, there can still be life and happiness. Christmas is a wonderful holiday, taking place in winter. There are many ways to celebrate Christmas and many more traditions surrounding it as well. In my house we celebrate Christmas by doing various activities. Previous years we would get a real Christmas tree, but now we are starting to us a fake one. Usually my Mom, my sister and me decorate the inside of the house as well as the tree.
My dad puts up the lights around the outside of the house. On Christmas day we have a big dinner including a turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and Yorksha-pudding. There are many presents to open under the tree.
If were lucky and it snows; my sister and me play in the snow. Those are some of the traditions that my family does.
